Parent's Day - Great Success
The first annual Parent’s Day with What Now America was a smashing success, a sure sign of the progress the organization has made after just 11 months. The turnout was fantastic, demonstrating the support of the youth's family members, who showed a lot of interest in the program and pride in their children’s accomplishments. While partaking in delicious food, families learned about their children's involvement in the organization and participated in some of the regular program activities. In a poster presentation, the kids shared their favorite parts of WNA, including making new friends, shopping days, and educational activities, such as computer lab and science experiments. Highlighting the day’s positive message, one participant said that he liked “the person he became after joining the program”.

Youth Backpacking Trip

Youth Backpacking Trips Need Your Support

As a part of our continued partnership with Big City Mountaineers, we have the chance to sponsor two groups of teens for a 6-day, no-frills backpacking trip in the high Sierras. 5 girls and 5 boys will be selected to join an equal number of coach/counselors on a physically and emotionally challenging adventure. The teens will learn new ideas about age/ethnic diversity, self-esteem, environmental awareness, and interpersonal relationships. This is a very rewarding and amazing opportunity for personal growth in their lives. Make a donation today.
