This past Saturday at WNA was full of excitement and adventure, as the youth explored their creative side through many different mediums. In a painting activity, artistic talent shone as a rainbow of colors were mixed and combined to create scenes of dream worlds. This was followed by a sculpture project, where the youth molded raw clay into many shapes, creating their own personal masterpieces, including handmade cups, vases, and decorative sculptures. The day also marked the completion of a vividly colored and intricately designed poster project, which was the result of continued artistic collaboration between the youth and volunteers. Magic tricks were marveled at and revealed to the students, giving them a fascinating new way to entertain their families. Exploration with technology unleashed further artistic skills, and allowed the youth to learn about educational and creative activities online at www.activitytv.com.

Two new youth members experienced the welcoming atmosphere of WNA for the first time, and fit right in the program with their friendly attitudes and willingness to try new things. Ending this day of discovery and imagination, an appreciation session and program overview provided positive encouragement, while touching on the rules that help make the experience successful for the youth, including the importance of respecting others, and coming to the program ready for full immersion in the day’s activities.
