Milad Yazdanpanah
Chairperson
Executive Director
Milad works as a Business Solutions Manager for Blackbaud for the past 4 years. He works directly with enterprise nonprofit clients to deliver online CRM and CMS business solutions. He is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and managing risks within projects, systems, and resource changes to formulate plausible business solutions. He spends a great deal of his time working with other non profit organizations catering refugee and imigrant families. Milad received his B.A. in Business/Neuroscience and an M.A in Demography from the University of California, Berkeley.

Hooman Shahrokhi
Treasurer
Technology Director
Hooman has been volunteering at different Non-Profits in Oakland that focused in youth development. Mentoring the youth, guiding building projects, and leading youth backpacking trips are notable in his involvement. His passion includes introducing the youth to environments with which they are less familiar as most of the youth that he has worked with have never been outside of Oakland. Seeing the joy in the youth’s eyes and the realizations to which they come are most rewarding to Hooman. Hooman received his B.A. in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.  
  
Mona Yazdanpanah

Mona is a third year student at the California State University East Bay, majoring in Philosophy and Mathematics. She has been working with children for over 5 years. Ever since she has moved to the Bay Area, she has been working with various non-profit organizations in Oakland to reach out to the community. Being a mentor for youth, she has coordinated monthly outing trips, directed different clubs such as boys and girls clubs, math club, and has built strong personal rapport with students and families in the Oakland community.
  
Zoha Parvizian
Publicity Coordinator
Zoha is currently a Chemist working in the Clinical Diagnostics division at Thermo Fisher Scientific in the Bay Area. On a day to day basis, she dedicates her time to working in the laboratory where she overlooks quality control and monitors the stability of products which are manufactured for diagnosing various medical conditions. Although her work is an indirect way of giving back to people in a clinical aspect, she also enjoys giving back to society in a more direct way through involvement with non profit organizations like What Now America? Zoha majored in Psychology and Microbial Biology, graduating from UC Berkeley in 2006 and looks forward to making a change in our local Bay Area communities.
  
Rebecca Christensen
Program Director
Rebecca is currently a Career Counselor at the University of California, Berkeley. She provides career counseling services and coordinates programs for Cal undergraduate students and alumni on topics such as career exploration, resume and cover writing, interviewing, and job and internship search techniques. Her interests also include access and success in higher education among underrepresented students. Rebecca Christensen received her Ed.M & M.A. in Psychological Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University and a B.A. in Psychology & Social Behavior from University of California, Irvine.
  
Jana Hiraga
Resource Consultant
Jana Hiraga has served many roles as a dedicated volunteer, staff member and board of director's member for the YWCA Berkeley/Oakland since 2002. She is currently the Program Director of the organization's Youth Development and Eliminating Racism programs. These programs serve over eight public schools as well as other nonprofit organizations in the East Bay. They all aim to improve the overall quality of life of at-risk populations ranging from preschoolers to retired community members. Jana received her Interdisciplinary B.A in Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley and plans to continue working with the YWCA Berkeley/Oakland striving for the economic empowerment of women and the elimination of racism.
  
Emily Wenzler

With over 11 years of successes in both Non-Profit and Business Marketing Emily Wenzler truly understands how to craft a solution for a variety of media and audiences. Emily has a straight forward, personable approach and dives into projects with enthusiasm. Emily listens openly, yet comfortably takes the lead to achieve organizational goals. Her passion for making the world a better place, intelligence and common sense has produced great results and endeared her with her clients such as Heifer International, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Equality California, Simon Wiesenthal Center and Canadian Cancer Society. When she's not dreaming up the next great creative approach Emily can be found hanging out with her family and collaborating on sustainability ventures.
